After the Bell - Instructors
As Director of After the Bell, Melanie Stockholm has a gift and passion for teaching both children and adults. She graduated from Houghton College in New York with a Bachelor of Music in Education with a minor in oboe. Melanie has taught 4 years as a high school band and choir director and 7 years in the elementary music classroom. During her career she has directed community choirs and had leading roles in several musicals through Community Theater. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church orchestra and director of the Kidtricity choir for 3rd-5th grade students. She teaches all instruments, but specializes in woodwinds.
Joyce Langston is an accomplished musician and teacher and has been teaching private piano lessons for 16 years. She is a retired teacher from Arkansas Baptist School where she taught kindergarten for 9 years. She graduated with a degree in elementary education from University of Arkansas in Monticello. Joyce is also the long time director of the 4-5 year old choir at First Baptist Church in Little Rock and member of the Sanctuary Choir. She teaches beginning piano.
